Our Story

Working closely with trusted suppliers who share our commitment to sourcing produce locally wherever possible, our menus are inspired by the rich flavours, seasonal ingredients, and culinary heritage of Lancashire and the surrounding areas. This close relationship with local producers allows us to showcase the very best the region has to offer, while supporting the communities around us.

Our talented kitchen team take great pride in creating a diverse and thoughtfully crafted selection of dishes, carefully balancing classic favourites with more contemporary flavours. Every plate is prepared with attention to quality, freshness, and presentation—an approach formally recognised through our Taste Lancashire Highest Quality Assured accreditation.

To complete your dining experience, choose from our extensive wine list, featuring carefully selected bottles to suit every palate and occasion. Alternatively, enjoy up to six hand-pulled cask ales, including regular local guest beers from Bowland Brewery, Reedley Hallows Brewery, and Timothy Taylor’s—each chosen for its quality, character, and flavour.

Our Location

Located on the edge of Pendle Forest in the heart of the Pennines, the beautiful 17th-century Ye Sparrowhawk Inn stands as a true Lancashire treasure. Surrounded by rolling countryside and steeped in local heritage, the inn offers a rare blend of historic character and timeless charm.

Believed to have originally been a farmstead, the building has evolved over centuries while retaining many of its original features. Most notably, it is famed for its striking stained-glass dome—an architectural feature whose exact origins remain something of a mystery. Despite this, its beauty and craftsmanship continue to captivate visitors, serving as a lasting reminder of the building’s rich and intriguing past.

Today, Ye Sparrowhawk Inn remains a place where history, warmth, and hospitality come together, inviting guests to enjoy its unique atmosphere and enduring splendour.
